Beginnings are magical, exciting, scary, and intimidating all at the same time. Transitioning to new routines and new expectations can cause apprehension and feelings of being a bit off balance. September is a time for new beginnings, at least for me and the rest of the educational world. New students, new initiatives, new staff, new…
This September I am also building a new business. As I strive for balance, I am working on trying to buy time so to speak. Borrowing time from one day in order to save time on another. Meal prepping, ironing clothes for the week, organizing the things I am going to need to have at the ready, so I can use my time more efficiently during the week. This is a bit out of my normal as I am completely abstract random; being this planful is a strange feeling for me, but I am going to give it a go.
Time is our most valuable resource. If I only had more time is a phrase I hear often and completely resonate with. Time is elusive and perplexing. How does one harness time? How does one spend their time? How does what you do with your time align with your goals? What robs your time? What is a valuable use of your time?
Do you choose to honor your strong side or your softer side with the time you have? Today, I chose to honor my softer side as it is a holiday. I slept a little later. I drank my coffee a little slower. I took a yoga class, and I walked my puppy. I prepped for the rest of the week. Slowing down in order to nourish my mind, body, and soul.
Even though tomorrow will bring with it a whole new set of challenges, the only moment I ever experience is the one right now. The only moment that really matters is the one right now. “Nothing has happened in the past; it happened in the Now. Nothing will ever happen in the future; it will happen in the Now. (Eckhart Tolle)
What are you going to do with your NOW?
